Founded in 1918 and now located in Monroe, North Carolina, Cyril Bath Company has been at the forefront of metal forming technology for over a century. At Cyril Bath, we have developed in collaboration with Boeing, Hot Stretch Forming (HSF®), an advanced process that shapes titanium profiles into complex airframe components with exceptional precision and reliability.

The HSF® technology was strategically developed as an overall means to reduce Titanium consumption. Subsequently reducing raw material and machining cost. The technology combined with the extrusion or rolled shape processes, is used in a variety of cases as an alternative to “traditional” manufacturing methods such as plate or forging.

With over 15 years of proven maturity, the technology has been used to produce more than 100,000 main structural parts currently in service on aircraft. Importantly, HSF® can be integrated with minimal changes to existing designs, thanks to the addition of HSF® pre-forms, offering a low-risk solution for aerospace manufacturers.

  • Replacement of an assembly of several parts machined from forged or plate by one HSF® pre-form

Cyril Bath provides HSF® equipment with capacities ranging from 30 to 200 tons.
