For the past 100 years, ACB has been designing, manufacturing, and installing high-end machines dedicated to metal forming. We develop solutions covering the entire spectrum of forming: from Sheet Metal and Profile Forming to Elastoforming, from Hot Forming to Superplastic Forming (SPF), and even Linear Friction Welding (LFW). Beyond these technologies, we also design and build a wide range of special machines, tailored to unique customer requests. We also build turnkey workshops, integrating machines, processes, and tools.

ACB was founded in Nantes under the name Ateliers et Chantiers de Bretagne, specializing in shipbuilding

1960s

The company begins manufacturing hydraulic presses, marking a decisive turning point in its industrial history.

1974

Design and manufacture of the very first ACB press, an Elastoforming Press delivered to a French customer: a key step in the development of our expertise.

1988

ACB and its American counterpart Cyril Bath join the Alstom group, giving the company a new international vision.

2000

ACB and Cyril Bath leave the Alstom group to become independent and form the Aries Group, which later becomes Aries Alliance and then Aries Industries.

2006

Development of linear friction welding (LFW) technology at the request of Rolls-Royce for the manufacture of blisks: a major technological advancement.
